Common App Essay
As colleges admissions increasingly move to test-optional or test-blind, the 650-word common app essay has become a key component to a college application. It's an opportunity to let college admissions readers get to know you beyond your activities list and transcript; it's a format where you can tell a story that demonstrates your character, growth, or a significant learning experience.
I work with students on all steps of the college essay process. Don't have an idea? I will brainstorm with you until you have an idea for your essay that you're excited to write about. I'll work alongside you as you outline, draft, revise, and proofread your essay. My goal is to help you write an essay that represents you -- and that you are proud to submit with your college application.

Supplemental essays
Most colleges require at least one shorter essay in addition to the common application essay, typically between 100 and 250 words. The short format of these essays can be a challenge, as they require your write creatively and succinctly in few words.
Along with working with students to brainstorm, write and revise these essays, I also help students create a strategy for supplemental essay writing, helping them create a group of short essays that they can revise and reuse for similar prompts between colleges. This streamlines the college essay writing load and allows students to present their best work on all college applications.
